*please remember that vents and returns are different. Vents blow the air into your house from the main line (if applicable), Returns send the air back into your unit. Vents, Returns, and mains (main lines), are all quoted differently due to the methods of cleaning they need*
“The level of some hazardous pollutants in indoor air has been found to be up to 70 times greater than the outdoor air.” (USEPA).
Air Duct cleaning done CORRECTLY, can help remove contaminants from the air you breathe, eliminate dust in your home, allow your system to run efficiently, and give you a better breathing environment. (For explanation keep reading)
Most, not every American suffers from some kind of airborne allergy. Everyone is different, even though it may not affect you; someone else you love may be affected. You don’t even realize that the cause of it is the air inside the house that they are breathing.
By having your air ducts cleaned correctly, you will help improve the quality of air you and your family breathe. It will also enhance the efficiency of your unit, aid in prolonging the life of your system, and minimize repairs on your homes heating and cooling system.
During the spring, summer, and fall months in the mid west, the mold and pollen counts are at their peak. We open the door fifteen to twenty times a day (with kids and/or pets we can triple that) allowing those contaminants to invade our homes.
Your system kicks on and off all day. As the unit kicks on, it brings the air along with all of the contaminants that you have allowed into your home, your regular house hold contaminants (the average person sheds two grams of skin a day, dust mites favorite food) into your air system. This is not including people that have pets.
From there, it travels through vent system and arrives at your furnace filter. Many of these contaminants can penetrate the filter and around the filter, entering into the “clean air” side of your system.
The contaminants and dust stick to your A/C coil, blower motor, and heat exchange (that’s the bad smell you have when you fire up your furnace). This slows down the air flow (see pictures in gallery).
When your system is dirty, it prevents the unit from being able to run efficiently, by cooling or heating properly. It restricts air flow, and eventually can cause your compressor and blower motor to go out prematurely.
Along with premature equipment failure, it blows all of the contaminants that didn’t stick back into your home, polluting the air that you and your family breathe.
This is why we do a FIVE STAR INSPECTION with any work we perform. We walk our customers through their entire system, from top to bottom, before and after our work!!.
